บางแสน ชลบุรี

หาดบางแสน ในทะเลของอ่าวไทยแห่งหนึ่ง ตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่ตำบลแสนสุข อำเภอเมืองชลบุรี จังหวัดชลบุรี เป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่เป็นที่รู้จักและนิยมมาอย่างยาวนานของนักท่องเที่ยว ด้วยความที่อยู่ใกล้กรุงเทพมหานคร ด้วยการเดินทางรถยนต์ใช้เวลาเพียงชั่วโมงเศษ มีความยาวประมาณ 2.5 กิโลเมตร ปัจจุบันอยู่ในการดูแลของเทศบาลเมืองแสนสุข

หาดบางแสน ได้ชื่อสถานที่นี้มาจากนิทานพื้นบ้านความรักของชายหนุ่มที่ชื่อ "แสน" กับหญิงสาวที่ชื่อ "สามมุข" ที่ไม่สมหวังในความรัก จึงพากันกระโดดน้ำตายและกลายเป็นชื่อสถานที่ต่าง ๆ ในตัวจังหวัดชลบุรี รวมถึงศาลเจ้าแม่สามมุข ที่อยู่ใกล้เคียงกัน

หาดบางแสน รวมไปจนถึงพัทยา ในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ของทุกปี จะเป็นสถานที่เล่นน้ำสงกรานต์และประเพณีสงกรานต์ของท้องถิ่นที่เรียกว่า "วันไหล" ซึ่งจะจัดหลังประเพณีสงกรานต์ในส่วนอื่น ๆ

น้ำทะเลที่หาดบางแสนในช่วงระหว่างเดือนตุลาคมถึงเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ของปีถัดไป เป็นเวลาประมาณ 5 เดือน จะมีความใสเหมือนกับน้ำทะเลที่หาดทรายในต่างประเทศ เช่น มัลดีฟส์ โดยเป็นปรากฏการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี
